For purposes of renewal, a registered practitioner may conduct a registered cardholder’s recertification assessment via telehealth if he/she previously evaluated the registered cardholder in person. 15 Miss. Yes. A practitioner must be registered by the MS State Department of Health prior to issuing a written certification for a person seeking to participate in the medical cannabis program.
Yes. Eight (8) hours of continuing education is required in order to register initially with Mississippi State Department of Health. Five (5) hours of continuing education will be required at renewal.
A physician or physician assistant licensed to prescribe medicine by the MS State Board of Medical Licensure. A certified nurse practitioner licensed to prescribe medicine by the MS State Board of Nursing. An optometrist licensed to prescribe medicine by the MS State Board of Optometry.
