Recall of Certain Mississippi Medical Cannabis Products

On December 20, 2023, the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program issued a mandatory quarantine of products needing retesting due to possible contamination. Retesting is being conducted in licensed medical cannabis testing facilities with validated testing methods. Existing products in the possession of licensed dispensaries, cultivators, and processors that failed testing are under a mandatory recall.

A list of recalled products can be found on the MMCP website at: Patient Purchased Recall Items. Additional products may be added to this list as retesting results become available.

The Mississippi State Department of Health Medical Cannabis Program is advising the following methods of disposal for recalled products:

Patients: If you are in possession of a recalled product, please return it to the dispensary where you purchased from for disposal.

Cultivators/Processors: Please refer to the letters emailed to your primary point of contact for guidance.

To date, no illnesses have been reported. This announcement is being made out of an abundance of caution. Patients who have purchased potentially contaminated products should not ingest, inhale, or otherwise consume them and should dispose of them as outlined above. If you have consumed any of the products and are experiencing adverse effects, please contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical care.
